KL Kepong climbs on RM706m expansion Posted: 08 Sep 2011 06:22 PM PDT Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, Malaysia's third-largest palm oil producer, rose to a two-month high after announcing plans to invest RM706 million to expand downstream into derivative products. Its shares climbed 1.3 percent to 21.88 ringgit at 9:04 a.m. in Kuala Lumpur, set for their highest close since July 14. The expansion is "positive" and should boost earnings in three years, Malayan Banking Bhd analyst Ong Chee Ting wrote in a report today. -- Bloomberg |
