Najib witnesses passing out parade of ATM-PDRM personnel Posted: 29 Jul 2011 08:19 PM PDT Najib witnesses passing out parade of ATM-PDRM personnelPORT DICKSON -- A total of 984 constables and 2,107 soliders, including 194 women made history today when they participated in a joint passing out parade, a first for Malaysia. The parade held at the Army's Pusasda training base here was all the more meaningful as it was witnessed by none other than Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak himself. It was Najib himself who mooted the idea of joint training of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) personnel as part of his Blue Ocean Strategy.
Among the key objectives of the initiative is to enable the government to save RM639 million in the next five years by using the military's training bases to train police personnel as well, thus relieving the need to build new police training centres. The passing out parade also involved 17 senior officers and 45 men from ATM while from the police side they numbered seven and 18 respectively. On the ATM side the team was led by Major Rosman Mohd Noh while DSP Douglas Nyeging Taong was the leader for the PDRM side.
Among the VIPs present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hassan, ATM chief Jen Tan Sri Zulkefli Mohd Zin and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar. -- Bernama Air your comment on this issue: Full Feed Generated by Get Full RSS, sponsored by Used Car Search.Najib witnesses passing out parade of ATM-PDRM personnelLog in with your Facebook account or use the form below to comment.
